What is octoburgerfest?
Every October, The Real Beef Buddies embark on a mission to eat eight delicious burgers and rate them to crown an annual “Best Burger” champion. Each year’s diverse selection comes from some old favourites, new recommendations and a few off-the-grid picks.
This year, we have curated not one, but THREE lists of eight (PattyPaths) sorted by type: smashburgers, classics, and fancy burgers for the foodies amongst us. We invite you to help us discover this year’s best burger on each path by getting out there and enjoying a great burg with your buds – and then casting your votes!

Oil up your beard and throw on a toque before heading out to critique Vancouver’s finest smashburgers. Enjoy these simple, savory, and supple treats full of crispy maillard goodness.
Royale with Cheese: Two smashed beef patties, lettuce, American cheese, secret sauce, Kaylin & Hobbs sweet pickles
Mimi’s Cheeseburger: Hand pressed fresh beef patty, American cheese, Mimi’s sauce, lettuce, tomato, relish and onions
Cheeseburger: Pigot’s secret sauce, ‘Merican cheese, brown sugar onions, butter toasted potato roll
Consider packing a bib on your journey through some of Vancouver’s best classic burgers. This dependable, juicy, and scrumptious path is guaranteed to fill your hands and your belly.
American Classic: Two 3oz patties, American cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayo, L.T.O.P.
The Americana: All beef patty, special sauce, lettuce, cheddar cheese, onions, pickles
Ellis Burger: Two Rivers house ground chuck, cheddar, tomato, lettuce, pickles & house mayo (served medium rare)
Put on a shirt with buttons, and maybe even wash your hair before going out to treat yo-self to some of Vancouver’s most indulgent fancy burgers. Expect quality ingredients, unique composition, and elegant presentation. And eat them with at least one pinky finger up.
FIVE SAILS BURGER (Lunch Only): brioche bun, ground tenderloin, confit portobello mushroom, caramelized onion heirloom tomato, dijon mayonnaise and french fries
Gotham Bacon Cheddar Burger: hand-chopped Prime beef, aged white cheddar & bacon, lettuce and beefsteak tomato on French bun, served with fries or mixed local organic greens (LUNCH ONLY)
The Burger: 8oz in-house handground Blue Goose organic beef, fresh challah bun, melted fontina cheese, truffle aioli and syrah caramelized onions
The Pourhouse Burger: 7oz dry-aged beef, confit pork belly, aged cheddar, caramelized onion, grainy mustard mayo, potato bun
